Milton P. “Buddy” Luther, 77, of Waterman Drive, Scituate, died Thursday, October 26, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Andrea B. (Riccio) Luther.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Henry A. Luther, Sr. and Kathleen (Critchley) Luther. He had lived in Scituate since 1963. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran.
Mr. Luther was a member of Local #251 and a truck driver for the Salvation Army and Purolator/ Emery before retiring. He also did lawn care and landscaping. He loved gardening, taking care of his lawn and going to the track for greyhound racing. He was a weather watcher and enjoyed his antique truck. He was a member of the Antique Truck Club of RI.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Donna J. Dunn of North Kingston, Steven P. Luther and his wife, Bonnie of Glocester and Joanne Santos of Warwick from his first marriage to Carol B. Luther, his grandchildren: Amy Dunn, Travis Tholander, Cassidy Santos, John P. Santos, III, and Alex and Daniel Powers, his step children Dan Powers of Texas, Deborah Powers of California, and his siblings: Henry A. Luther, Jr. of Smithfield, his twin sister, Martha P. Mikkelsen, Alan R. and Richard B. Luther and his beloved cat, Spooky. He was the brother of the late Carol A. Luther.
A Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 11:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the RISPCA, 186 Amaral St, Riverside, RI 02915.
