TEWKSBURY - Mr. Antonio Michael “Tony” Campo, 62, a National Grid manager and employee of the company for more than forty years, died peacefully at his Tewksbury home on Thursday morning, October 26, after a brief struggle with heart and health issues.
He was born in Revere in November 1954, one of five children of the late Anthony and Josephine (Celata) Campo, but had lived most of his life in Tewksbury. He was a member of Tewksbury Memorial High School’s Class of 1972, and went on to earn an Engineering Degree from the former Lowell Technical Institute, now U-Lowell. He began his career with Colonial Gas in the late 1970’s and was currently working as an area supervisor in the greater Lowell district for National Grid.
For many years, Tony had also worked as a Deep Sea Fishing Charter Captain in the Newburyport area, and partnered in ownership of the Yankee Pride charter boat.
He leaves his sisters and brother, Esther Brodeur and her husband Michael of Nashua, NH, Vincent Campo and his wife Sandra of Tewksbury, Janice Campo of Chelmsford, Rita DeAngelo and her husband John of Hudson, NH; nieces and nephews, Melissa and Kyle Cabral of Winthrop, Kristin Brodeur of Somerville, John Michael DeAngelo of Hudson, NH, Maria Campo, Mark Campo both of Tewksbury, Jamie DeAngelo of Hudson, NH, Lauren Campo of Tewksbury; great nephew and niece, Chace and Madison; and several aunts and uncles.
Visiting hours Friday, November 3, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
