In Taunton, October 26, 2017 William A. “Bill” Wakefield husband of Joan (Gustafson) Wakefield and former husband of Lucille Marie (Ferrier) Wood died at Morton Hospital in Taunton at the age of 80. Born and educated in Dighton, Bill was the son of the late Clifford and Lilian (Bonnel) Wakefield. Bill was a retired Union Steward for Chadwick’s of Boston. He was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed bocce, softball, tenpin and duckpin bowling and camping at Ellis Haven Campground. He was a member of the Italian Social Club and the Italian Naturalization Club both in Taunton. Bill was the father of David A. Wakefield and his wife Laurel, Jeffrey S. Wakefield and his wife Jonney Birosh, Deborah A. Amaral and her husband Brian, Rebecca Martinez and her husband Dionisio and Mark Wakefield and his wife Kristin and the late William Robert Wakefield and JoEllen Blain. Grandfather of Heather Marie Wakefield, Amanda Wakefield, Joseph Wakefield, William Amaral, Jocelyn Zuromski, Jeanette Wells, Lindsey Ruschioni, Deanna Wakefield, Josh Wakefield, Kayleigh Sousa Farrington, Bradley Wakefield and Dennis Martinez. Great Grandfather of Desiree Wakefield, Jada Watson, Hailey Powell, Ava Wakefield, Brody Wakefield and Logan Ruschioni. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton, Monday, October 30th from 4-7 pm. Interment will be private in the family lot at Dighton Community Cemetery.
