Jimmie Junior Mitchell, 88, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at his residence. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Mitchell at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Pastor Roger Blanchard officiating. Mr. Mitchell will be laid to rest at a later date.
Born October 22, 1929 in Colquitt County, Mr. Mitchell was the son of the late Jimmy Mitchell, Sr. and Ida Walker Mitchell. He was a retired mechanic.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by one son, Melvin Mitchell of Tifton; two daughters, Phyllis T. Mitchell of Augusta and Reana M. Jordan of Tifton; three brothers, Robert Mitchell of Omega, Levoyd Mitchell and Odel Mitchell, both of West Palm Beach, Florida; and one sister, Della Mae Mitchell of Tifton; ten grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
