Ronald F. Cecchini died peacefully at home in the company of his loving family on Sunday morning. He was 81. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Adolph and Frances (Marchi) Cecchini. Ronald worked for over 40 years as a waiter at the famed Boston restaurant, Locke-Ober. His father had worked there as Maître d’. Ronald was a hard-working man who provided well for his loving wife and daughter. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors at Vinny’s on Broadway in Somerville. There he enjoyed a coffee and caught up on the news of the day.
The beloved husband of Adele (Adami) Cecchini, he was a loving father to Elizabeth Cecchini of Somerville. The devoted brother of Mary Cecchini-Ciano of Somerville, the late Alfred and Mario Cecchini, he was a dear uncle to Karen O’Leary and many other dear nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, October 27th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Benedict Church, 21 Hathorne Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home, Thursday 4 – 8 PM.
