Marguerite M. (Dupuis) Rivest, age 82, passed away on Oct. 16, 2017 at Holyoke Health Care Center. She was born on Nov. 14, 1934 in Springfield, a daughter of the late Edward and Marie Helene (Henault) Dupuis. She graduated from Annhurst College with a business degree. Marguerite worked as the owner of Bo-Mar Paper and Novelty Company for 16 years before she retired. She was a former communicant of Assumption Parish and former member of the Ladies of St Ann and the 3rd Order of Dominican Nuns of West Springfield. She is predeceased by her husband Robert F. Rivest Sr., who passed away in 1996. She leaves 2 sons, John Rivest of Chicopee and Joseph Rivest and his wife Mary of Southampton; 2 daughters, Julie Prince and her husband Charles of Hershey, PA and Anne Marie Rivest and her husband Joe Giard of Westhampton; her brother Louis Dupuis and his wife Joan of Holyoke; her sister Jackie Marciano of Westfield; 5 beloved grandchildren, Tom, Jessica, Ashley, Brianna and Cailin and 2 beloved great grandchildren Logan and Lilly. She is predeceased by her son Dr. Robert F. Rivest Jr who passed away in 2015 and also by her 2 sisters, Sr. Theresa Dupuis and Mary Ann Gagnon. Calling Hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Fri., Oct. 27, 2017 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dominican Nuns at the Dominican Monastery 1430 Riverdale St. West Springfield, MA 01089.
