Joan M. Dias, 69, of Taunton, passed away on Saturday, October 21st, 2017. She was the beloved widow of her husband of thirty-one years, Peter F. Dias, Jr. Born and raised in Taunton, Joan was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bertha (Phillips) Cremeans. A graduate of Coyle and Cassidy High School, Joan dedicated her life to her family. An avid reader with a keen appreciation for natural beauty, Joan will be remembered for her unfailing humor, resilience, and as a loyal friend and confidante.
She is survived by her children, Richard D. Potter, Jr. of East Freetown, Ryan Potter of Providence, RI, and Christina Haines and her husband Lance of Wilmington; grandchildren, Victoria Boone and her husband Michael of Japan and Rachel Potter of East Freetown; and great grandson, Caleb Boone. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Jean Cardoza of Taunton, Suzanne Swanson of Taunton, and Diane Bussiere of Oakdale, CT, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at 9:00AM from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, with Mass to follow in Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10:00AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours Friday, October 27th from 5-8PM. Additional Parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.
