Obituary

William A. Tower, 74, OF Snake Hill Road, Glocester, died Friday, October 20, 2017 in the Hebert Nursing Home in Smithfield. He was the husband of Deborah D. (Streeter) Tower. They had been married for 48 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Wallace P. and Carrie E. (Salisbury) Tower. He had lived in Glocester for all his life. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran.

Mr. Tower was a teacher in the East Providence school system and later in the East Greenwich School System. He was a member of the NEARI. He had been the owner of Horse Power Carriage and Hayrides and was a member of the Eastern Draft Horse Association.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children: Michael W. Tower and Christine D. Meinertz and her husband, Gregory, all of Glocester, his grandchildren: Matthew and Abigail and his sisters: Joyce B. Tower of Marion, MA and Elizabeth Hopkins and her husband, Bruce of Glocester.

His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 10am in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation Monday 4-7pm in Anderson-Winfield Home, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Thomas Church Capital Campaign, P O Box 505, Greenville, RI 02828
