New Bedford –Honorable Staff Sgt. Ben Brites, age 72 born September 19, 1945 in Acushnet, MA. Transitioned on Saturday October 21, 2017 at The Oaks. The Loving offspring of the late Joseph M. and Clara (Marinelli) Brites.
Ben, lived in New Bedford, a graduate of New Bedford High School and furthered formal education. At times generous with knowledge. Ben is registered with our country’s first major National Memorial to honor National Archives. Prior to retiring Ben, accepting positions worked in various jobs Pinkerton, Wells Fargo Armored Service, Foxwoods etc. A former member of International Private Investigators Union. Ben, adored dog pets Fluffy, Queenie, and Valentina that are placed in an animal cemetery. Enjoyed the spirit of adventure and a traveler. The natural world was infectious.
An active participant in the religion of Spiritualism.
A courageous battle with cancer in 2015. Special thanks with deep gratitude to Sarah S. Brayton Center for the excellent care and compassion which made life comfortable in 2016.
Her burial with military honors will take place Tuesday October 24th at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Bedford at 10 A.M. Everyone who would like to attend is ask to meet directly at the cemetery.
