Obituary

PORTER- Bernard M. Britt, age 89, passed away on Oct. 18, 2017 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
He was born in North Yarmouth, Maine on July 28, 1928, a son of the late Benjamin and Nellie (Snow) Britt.
After graduating from Freeport High School, Bernard went on to proudly serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
For 35 years, Bernard worked for Windham Mill Works as a truck driver and retired at age 80.
He was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed hunting, refinishing furniture, and was a very devoted husband and family man.
He is predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
Bernard is survived by his beloved wife- Valencia (Morin) Britt; children- Kaleen Jones and her husband Chris of Porter and Gary Britt and his wife Melody of Cornish; a sister; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday Oct. 27, from 11 – 1 PM at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St. (Rt. 25) in Cornish. At the conclusion of the visiting hours, Bernard will receive USAF honors. Private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Cornish. Online condolence messages can be submitted to www.mainefuneral.com
