Ralph E. Janaro age 96 of Brockton died Monday October 16, 2017 at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville, New Jersey after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of the late Joan M. (Caledonia) Janaro for 68 years. Ralph had been a longtime resident of Brockton before moving to Kinnelon, NJ to be closer to his daughter.
Born and raised in Stoughton, a son of the late Bernard and Vincenzia (DeSantos) Janaro, Ralph was a 1939 graduate of Stoughton High School. During WWII he had worked at Panther Rubber in Stoughton. From 1946-1982, Ralph was the proprietor with his brother Anthony Felos, of the Twinkee Raincoat Company in Stoughton.
Ralph was a lifetime member of the Stoughton Lions Club where he had served on the board of directors and was treasurer. He also enjoyed bowling at Westgate Lanes in the Wednesday night mixed league, traveling and photography.
Ralph was the father of Beverly Guarino and her husband John of Kinnelon, NJ and the late Ralph Janaro and his widow Helen of Dexter, NY. He leaves 6 grandchildren Danielle Minioa and her husband Nick, Matthew Guarino and his wife Bonnie, Michael Guarino and his wife Jayme, Justin Janaro and his wife Kara, Andrea Janaro and Christopher Janaro and his wife Jacquelyne and 5 great grandchildren Olivia Minioa, Chloie and Jonah Janaro, Blake and Rylan LaValley. He was the brother of the late Jennie DeLuca, Mary Deacon, Etta Naves, Anthony Felos, Rose Colbert and Frances Miller. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Monday 4-7pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30am for a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
