BROOKSVILLE, FL – Pauline V. (Pietras) Kaszowski, 94, formerly of Dudley, died April 10, 2017 after an illness. Her husband of 52 years, Thaddeus “Ted” Kaszowski, died in 1994.
She leaves a daughter, Rachel P. Kaszowski and Steve Roosa of Brooksville, FL with whom she lived; a grandson Nicholas; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, David Kaszowski in 1953 and Jonathan T. Kaszowski in 2016, and by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
She was born on December 14, 1922 in Killingly, CT, a daughter of John and Michalena (Glud) Pietras. She lived in Dudley for most of her life before moving to Florida in 1999.
Mrs. Kaszowski worked as a fuser at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for 10 years. She then raised her family. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Dudley and had taught Sunday School there.
Her son Jonathan, 61, died on March 28, 2016 in Kenner,Louisiana. He was born in Worcester and raised in Dudley and had lived in the New Orleans area since 2000. He worked offshore for many years cooking on boats and oil rigs. He liked to cook for family and friends all his life. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
Memorial calling hours will be held Saturday, October 28, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 PM in Corbin Cemetery, Corbin Road, Dudley. The Reverend John R. White will officiate. Donations in her name may be made to HPH Hospice, 12260 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34613. Local arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
