Obituary

COCHITUATE: Maybelle (Ames) Schnepel, 93, died peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2017 following a period of declining health.
She was born in the family homestead on Main Street in Cochituate on May 27, 1924 the daughter of the late Oliver E. Ames and Gladys V. (Parmenter) Ames.
Maybelle is survived by her children Frederick Schnepel and his wife Melody Schnepel of Hudson, New Hampshire; Cynthia S. Penny and her husband John Penny of Edenton, North Carolina and the late Lawrence S. Schnepel, Jr. Also survived by her daughter-in-law Sharyn Schnepel of Ipswich, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Maybelle has been a lifelong resident of Cochituate, attended the Wayland schools and graduated from Wayland High School. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and bowling in her earlier years as well as playing cribbage and card games. She attended the Community United Methodist Church in Cochituate for many years. Maybelle was devoted to her children and grandchildren and will be fondly remembered by them.
Visitations will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 10:30 until 11:30 am followed by her funeral service at 11:30 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Ames family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate.
