Robert Daniel Berg, 63, of Johnston, Rhode Island passed away peacefully on October 17 after a long battle against cancer. Bob was the son of Robert W. Berg and Elizabeth Berg of Seekonk, Massachusetts. Bob was the husband of Anne (Van Amburgh) Berg, and recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. He leaves behind three children: Andrew Berg, of Jacksonville, Florida; Phillip Berg of Johnston, Rhode Island; and Joanna Berg, of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Bob earned an Associate in Science degree from Bristol Community College. He was an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician at the former Texas Instruments and subsequently, Sensata Technologies, for nearly 40 years.
Bob was an avid saltwater fisherman, and he enjoyed fishing with his best friend Mike Susi anywhere the stripers and blues were biting. He handcrafted fishing plugs and loved spending time in his tool shed creating them.
Bob was a talented athlete, and played softball for many years in the Christian Softball Association, and served as League Commissioner for several years. He loved playing golf, and participated in the Sensata Golf League for many years.
Bob’s greatest joy was his deep faith in Jesus Christ, his Savior. He was passionate about teaching Bible studies and inspiring new Christians to dig deep into the Word to grow their faith.
