Robert F. “Robbie” “Boomer” O’Neil, age 70, of Brockton died October 12, 2017. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Daniel and Rita (Bird) O’Neil. Robbie was a graduate of Brockton High School and had been employed at Shaw’s Supermarket on Belmont Street for over 40 years. He was an avid Boston sports fan, loved to play Bingo and shop.
Robbie was the brother of Daniel R. O’Neil and his wife Carolyn of Worcester, Audrey J. Mello of Taunton, and Donna M. Wood and her husband David of Middleboro. He also leaves his beloved nieces and nephews, Kathleen O’Neil, Kevin O’Neil and his wife Audrey, Stephen O’Neil and his wife Ashley, Brad Mello, Todd Mello and his wife Sherry, Jane Marchand and her husband Leo, Alyssa Benoit, Andrea DiPietro, Kerri Stein and her husband Gary, 13 great nieces and nephews and dear friends Kenny Bursaw and Bobby Silvia and his wife Linda.
A funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West Street, Brockton on Monday, October 30 at 10:30am, followed by burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Taunton. Visiting Hours are omitted.
