Patrick E. Garvey, age 79, of Natick, died on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Natick.
Born in Natick, he was the son of the late Joseph & Dorothy (Thompson) Garvey. Patrick was a lifelong resident of Natick. For 30 years, he was a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Natick. Patrick was a member of the American Legion, Post 107, formerly in Natick, a lifetime member of the Elks, Lodge #1425, and the Amvets in Natick. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much; making sure that when they came to visit, there was plenty of ice cream, candy and other treats available for them. Patrick adored watching them drive his tractor all around his yard too. In his spare time, he loved fixing things, especially his cars. Patrick will be remembered for being a loving, kind and giving man.
Patrick was the former husband of the late Gayle (Morrison); beloved father of Patrick Garvey, Jr. & his wife Laurie of Framingham, Joseph Garvey of Holliston and Susan Garvey of Holliston; loving Papa of Craig Garvey of Holliston, Gabrielle Osborne & her husband Timothy of Taunton, Caitlyn, Joseph and Michael Garvey all of Framingham and of two great-grandsons, Olyver and Charlie; dear brother of Patricia Aspinwall of Southborough, Robert Garvey of Merrimack, NH, James Garvey of Natick and the late Joseph Garvey.
Visiting hours at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, NATICK COMMON, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Funeral services at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, NATICK COMMON, on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 9:00 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian of Burial at Saint Patrick's Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Pond Street, Natick.
