Obituary

Louise B. (Justley) Harwood passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of James E. Harwood, to whom she was married for 75 years.

Born in New Bedford,she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Louisa (Lemos) Justley. She lived most of her life in this area. She was employed for many years in the Star Store office, and later worked as a teacher's aide in the New Bedford schools.

She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church.

Louise loved to sing - she sang in the Sweet Adelines and in the KeyNotes, and she always harmonized to the hymns in church. She loved her job as kindergarten aide, and working with young kids. She loved words - crossword puzzles, Scrabble, and writing poems and rhymes. And she loved her Christmas tree, with its more than 1000 ornaments.

In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by her daughters Barbara Pacheco and her husband David, and Jane Sheehan and her husband Richard; her son James and his wife Michelle; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Kathryn Justley, Mary Wilson, and Marjorie Sylvia; her brothers Joseph and Richard Justley; and her grandson Richard Sheehan.

Private arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
