Obituary

BUXTON- Edward E. Steeves (Eddie) passed away at his home on October 14, 2017, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Orrington, Maine on March 6, 1926. He was the son of Eleanor and George Steeves. He is predeceased by his wife, Marjorie, in 2009, who he was married to for 62 years and a brother Dana Pratt of Florida. Eddie loved his home and his family. Always ready to help anyone and to give away anything someone needed. If his children tried to get rid of something, he would always reply: "No someone might need it!"

Whenever he would hear of someone in the hospital or at The Veterans Home, he would go visit them. He loved to cook and would share his famous six-week muffins, his many cookies and swiss steak with everyone that he thought of including the local mini mart. Eddie was a World War 2 veteran and love patriotism. He worked hard all his life, some odd jobs, but for most of his life, he drove a trailer truck for Hemingway

Trucking. His house was always a welcoming place to visit or to stay if you had nowhere to go. He would feed anyone, help anyone, and loved all people. He had a huge garden right into his 90th year and always welcomed free picking! He was a very innovative man, always making things work better than they had originally been designed, like adding wheels and gadgets to make them function better.

He is survived by his four children: Carol A. Stone and husband Glenn N. Stone of Scarborough, Maine; William E. Steeves and wife Lynn of Buxton, Maine; Rose Ellen Kennie and husband Ellis Jr., of Gorham, Maine and Charles D. Steeves (Chuckie) and wife Terry of Buxton, Maine. Grandchildren are: Lance Hanna, Chad Kennie, Tammie Earl, Sheila Anderson, Sonya Tracy, Troy Steeves, and Angela Stone. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and two brand new great great grandchildren, a sister Katherine Toye of NY, and a friend and companion, Jacky Sargent of Hollis.
