Frank E. Floyd, Jr., age 84, of Norton, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 14, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Doris E. (LaRoche) Floyd, to whom he was wed on September 10, 1994.
Born in Newark, New Jersey on March 28, 1933, he was a son of the late Frank E. Sr. and Audrey (Myrick) Floyd.
Frank grew up in Newark and was a graduate of Hillside High School in New Haven, CT. During the Korean War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He later returned to school, graduating from the Board School for Electricians.
Mr. Floyd was a retired self-employed Electrician and the owner of Statewide Services. He also contracted his electrical skills for the Richard Brothers Electrical Co. in Mansfield.
Frank loved listening to music and was a true jazz enthusiast. He was an avid bowler and had a remarkable sense of humor and wit. Along with his wife Doris, He enjoyed traveling by way of motorhome.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Frank E. Loyd, III of Ohio, Barry Floyd of Natick, Anthony Floyd of Georgia and Stephen Floyd of Worcester. He is also survived by several grandchildren, stepchildren and numerous friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend funeral services, with military honors, on Wednesday, October 18th at 11:00 A.M. at the Massachusetts Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours have been omitted.
A procession will form on Wednesday morning at 9:45 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton and depart for the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
