John D. “Jack” Carleton, age 70, of Brockton, died October 12, 2017 following a period of failing health. Jack was the husband for 47 years of Susan G. (O’Brien) Carleton. Lifelong of Brockton, he was the son of the late John and Gladys (Poole) Carleton. Jack was a 1965 graduate of Brockton High School and attended Burdett College. For over 30 years, he was employed by Entenmann’s Bakery and was able to enjoy his retirement for the past ten years. Jack enjoyed playing pool and was a longtime member of the American Pool Association and Stix and Stones in Abington. He was an avid Boston sports fan and coin collector and enjoyed family summer vacations in New Hampshire and time at the house in Wareham.
Jack was the father of Janice Genatossio and her husband Leo of Brockton and Joanne McNeil and her husband Andy of Lakeville; grandfather of Paige and Lucy McNeil and Jake and Nicholas Genatossio. He is also survived by his brothers in law John O’Brien and Peter O’Brien and his wife Cam, and Watson the cat.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday, October 18, from 4-8pm. Burial will be held at a later date.
