Lawrence L. Danti, age 79, of Easton, formerly of Norwood and the North End of Boston, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Easton. He was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte (Meany) Danti, who died in 2009.
Born in Springfield, MA on July 21, 1928, he was a son of the late Armando and Isabel (O’Brien) Danti.
Lawrence grew up and was educated in Springfield. During the Korean War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. After being discharged from the service, he continued his education, attending UMASS in Amherst.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Danti worked as a bartender at the Boston Harbor Hotel in Boston. He had the distinction of being the head bartender and an original bartender at the establishment. He had made his home in Easton for the past ten years and previously resided in Norwood and the North End of Boston.
He is survived by his devoted sons Jeffrey L. Danti of Mansfield and Kenneth L. Danti of North Easton. He was the dear brother of Carol Johnson, formerly of Springfield and the late Bernard Danti. He was the loving grandfather of Christopher, Isabella, Justin and Amanda, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, October 17th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
Burial will be held privately, at a later date, at St Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
