Christine F. (Sowa) Kruger, 70, of New Bedford passed away Monday October 9, 2017 after a long courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Pulmonary Hypertension. She was the wife of Thomas J. Kruger; they had been married for 48 years.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late John and Henrietta M. (Dzialo) Sowa, she lived in New Bedford for the past 48 years. She was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary Academy in Fall River and UMass Dartmouth.
She was an active member of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Mrs. Kruger was formerly employed as a graphic designer at Nameplates For Industry until her retirement.
She was a talented artist who excelled at painting. She loved going to the beach and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; four children, Scott Kruger and his wife Stacy of New Bedford, Marky Kruger and his wife Erica of Dartmouth, Jay Kruger and his wife Katherine of New Bedford, and Amy Corriveau and her husband Jeremy of Fall River; a brother, Michael Sowa and his wife Margaret of Westport; six grandchildren, Madison, Lindsey, Nolan, Brady, Ella, and Mae; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 17, 2017 at 10 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Visiting hours will be on Monday October 16, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
