Richard L. Loranger, 81, of Dartmouth died October 10, 2017 peacefully at home from congestive heart failure.
He was the husband of Nancy (Senesac) Loranger.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late J. Leo and Lucienne (Lavoie) Loranger, he lived in Dartmouth most of his life, wintering in Punta Gorda, FL, living aboard his boat Chalet.
He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mr. Loranger was president and owner of Sturtevant & Hook in New Bedford and One Stop Building Supply in Newport, RI.
He was a graduate of Assumption Prep School and Assumption College ('58)
Survivors include his wife; a son, Christopher Loranger of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Karen Barry and her husband Kevin of Southboro, MA and Nicole Antonio of Fairhaven; 2 brothers, Raymond Loranger and Leo Loranger, both of Dartmouth; a sister, Dianne Nickel of Yates Center, KS; 4 grandchildren, Colleen Barry, Ryan Barry, Phoebe Antonio and Sebastian Antonio; several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Joey Loranger.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 17th at 10 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford, MA 02746.
