Richard A. “Red” Lawton, 79, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, October 7, 2017 with his family by his side. He was the husband of June (Roberts) Lawton.
Mr. Lawton was born in Westport, son of the late Arthur L. and Ruth A. (Brayton) Lawton and had been a lifelong resident of town. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, survivors include his 2 sons: Stephen R. Lawton and his wife Izzy and Paul A. Lawton, both of Westport; his daughter: Jane L. Amorin of Westport; 5 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Esther Benich and Grace E. Silver.
