TEWKSBURY: Kristen A. (Hollis) Lumia, age 44, a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on Friday, October 6, 2017, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was the beloved wife of Lawrence Lumia, Jr. with whom she celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on September 10, 2017.
Born in Melrose on June 28, 1973, she was the daughter of James H. Hollis, Sr. and Laraine A. (Doucette) Hollis, who survive her and reside in Tewksbury.
Kristen attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1991.
Following the birth of her children, Kristen decided to stay home and dedicated her life to raising her two beautiful girls and tending to her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her two children, Lila M. and Allie M. Lumia; her brother, Tewksbury Police Officer, James H. Hollis, Jr. and his wife Christine of Andover; brothers-in-law and sisters in law, Dawn Monahan and Jim Joyce, Michael & Tammy Lumia, and Tina and Brian Kierce; nieces and nephews, Molly and Bret Hollis, Megan Rochette, Patrick and Ryan Monahan, Daniel, James and Molly Kierce, and Matthew and Lauren Lumia.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin Thursday. Oct. 12, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Dorothy’s Church, Rte. 38, cor. of Main & Harnden Sts., Wilmington. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
