Katie Tucker Gray, 25, of Mystic, died Saturday, October 7, 2017, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Elder David Crawford and Elder Rick Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Irwinville Cemetery with Bro. John Hancock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Katie was born April 28, 1992, in Tifton, Georgia to Chris Tucker and Debbie Hancock Tucker Smith. She attended school in Irwin County and graduated from Paul Mitchell The School Esani. She later studied Master Cosmetology at The Mastery by Esani. Katie loved styling hair and worked from her home. She was an accomplished artist in acrylics and oils and had a natural talent of creativity. She was known to her friends and family and strangers alike as a very giving person. She enjoyed fishing as well. Perhaps Katie’s greatest title was that of “Mama” to her two precious children. She loved being a mama and wife and was devoted to meeting all the needs of her family. She was a member of the Irwinville Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dalton Gray of Mystic; her two children: Emma Jane and Dawson; her parents: Chris Tucker of Irwinville and Debbie Smith & her husband Casey of Woodstock; two brothers: Jake Charles Tucker of Irwinville and Jordan Smith of Woodstock; a sister, Sierra Rain Smith of Woodstock; grandparents: Jerry & Patricia Hancock of Irwinville, Sylvia JoAnn Chandler of McDonough, Joan Smith of Kennesaw, and Jim & Linda Smith of Jackson; an uncle, John Hancock & his wife Lori of Irwinville; many cousins; parents-in-law: Rondy & Wendy Gray and Nadine Gray, all of Ocilla; and grandparents-in-law: Myra & Roger Gray of Ocilla and Glenn & Cindy Cleghorn of Ashburn. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Dwight Tucker.
