Martinez, GA - Tyler “Tater” Reese Maphis, 23, loving son of Roger and Misty Maphis, entered into rest on Saturday, October 7, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Tater loved his family and all those he came in contact with. He loved listening to music at church and any activity that included water. He would hold his face up to the sun as if to absorb it into himself. He spent many happy hours watching his favorite movies on television and loved football games.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister; Ashley McDowell (Preston) of Evans, GA, nephew; Riley McDowell, maternal grandparents; Katherine and Paul Robinson of Martinez, GA, paternal grandmother; Irene Maphis of Odessa, TX, uncles; Paul David Robinson, Jr. (Mary Beth) of Germany, and Teddy Maphis of Odessa, TX. Tater was preceded in death by his brother, Riley “Spanky” Maphis and grandfather; Chuck Maphis.
Pallbearers will be Paul David Robinson, Jr., Wesley Counsell, Larry Hubbard, Randy Allen, Bill Snover, Preston McDowell, Ray Reynolds, Dion Ingram and Hogan Allen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the funeral home.
In honor of Tater, the family asks that those attending the service bring balloons and wear bright colored clothing.
