Obituary

Judith “Judy” Predham of Hudson, NH died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 75 on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Judy was born Judith Spinella in Queens, NY in 1942. She grew up on 217th Street with her parents Emmanuel and Mae Spinella and three brothers and sisters.

Judy was a quiet woman who earned the love and respect of all who knew her with her kindness and playful wit. She was a wonderful cook and her annual Christmas cookies were eagerly awaited by family and friends. She enjoyed nature, particularly the beach, and captured its beauty in watercolors, colored pencils, oils, yarn, glass and any other media she chose to explore. She loved to take classes at RISE and the Senior Center and was at her happiest learning something new. She loved to play games and typically won. She wrote prolifically in retirement and shared her wonderful poems and stories with family and friends.

Upon her graduation from the State University of New York at Farmingdale, Judy began her career as a commercial artist at Lika Associates in NY. After raising her two daughters, Judy returned to the workforce at Clymer’s of Nashua in customer service. She retired in 2006 after 20 years in Customer Service at Lowell Shoe in Hudson. She found joy in solving problems and a wonderful group of friends in her coworkers.

Judy was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Bill Predham. They truly enjoyed each other’s company. They set an example for their family of what it means to care for others and enjoy the little things in life together. They loved to travel, garden, serve their community at St. Mark’s parish, and visit with family and friends. They took great pride in the accomplishments of their family and were always there at every reunion, graduation, shower, wedding and funeral.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Lorraine Predham Keir of Alexandria, VA and Carol Lyon of St. Johnsbury, Vermont and three grandchildren: Timothy Lyon, Mathew Lyon and Caroline Keir. She is also survived by her sons-in-law David Keir and Richard Lyon, her sister Marie DiBiase and her brothers Edward Spinella and James Spinella, and many nieces and nephews.
