Obituary

Ronald Alfred Roy passed away on October 5th, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehab center in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on January 28th, 1922, the son of Augustine and Marie (Bilodeau) Roy. He grew up on Pershing Ave with his four brothers. It was a place that would always be dear to him. He attended Angel Guardian School and Berlin High, where he met his future wife, Margaret Kilbride. They were engaged before he went to Europe to serve in World War II, and married on his return. They were together a few weeks short of 70 years. They raised their four children on Elm. Street in Berlin. Ron was a worker. Besides his day job as a mechanic, he was never happier than when he was working on a job of his own, especially on the family camp at Akers Pond in Errol. He would often wake in the middle of the night to work out the details of his most recent project. He passed that work ethic on to his children.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, his parents, his brothers Raoul, Roger and Rene and by his grandson, Nathan. He is survived by his brother, Roland of Berlin, his son, Richard of Fort McMurry, Alberta, his daughters, Barbara and Cathy of Dallas, Texas and his son, Ron of Berlin, by his three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was happy in his last days to hear that a seventh great-grandchild was on the way. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

There will be no services. Donations can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 29 Providence Ave., Berlin, NH, 03570. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
