Adolfo M. Cardoso, 93, died Monday October 2, 2017 at home after a long illness.
Born in Sao Vincente, Cape Verde, the son of the late Mateus Jose and Eulalia Rosa Morais, he lived in Dakar, Senegal for many years before moving to New Bedford in 1991.
He is survived by his children, Eulalia Cardoso and Carlos Cardoso and his wife Titina, all of Cape Verde, Hirondina Lopes and her husband Jose, and Elisabeth Cardoso, all of France, Benvindo Cardoso of Dakar, Maria Lopes and her husband Virgilio, Diolinda Gomes, and Michel Gomes, all of Texas, Jean Pierre Gomes and his wife Albertina, Manuel Cardoso and his wife Beverly, and Emma Cardoso, all of New Bedford; his sisters, Albertina of Cape Verde, Sabina of France, and Ana of Spain; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Octave Lima, and his siblings, Tanha and Jose "Plote".
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 6, 2017 at 12 Noon at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday moring from 10 AM - 12 Noon. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
