Helen (Tamkun) Cote of Whitman, formerly of Abington, passed away on October 3rd, at the age of 96. She was born in Abington where she resided for over 80 years.
She also enjoyed spending time at the family beach house in Marshfield. She loved all types of crafts, shopping, her doll collection and taking care of her yards. She was relentless at digging up dandelions.
She was the beloved wife of the late Navy Commander Joseph J. Cote, loving mother of Joseph J. Cote of Marshfield, Susan E. Cote of Middleboro, Margaret H. Lehmann of Hanson and St. Croix, and William F. Cote and his wife Patricia of Carlisle, loving grandmother of Dean and Glen Cote and Jeffrey and Keith Lehmann.
Her family also wishes to thank the caring staff of Life Care Center of Raynham.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday October 10 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held Monday October 9 from 2:00-4:00 PM.
