Jenesta M. Larkin
Formerly of Tewksbury
CHELMSFORD: Jenesta M. (Jones) Larkin, age 98, a former resident of the Saunders Circle Housing Community in Tewksbury, passed away at the Palm Skilled Nursing Care Center in Chelmsford on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest W. Larkin, who passed away on June 14, 1993.
Born in Cambridge on October 19th, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William W. Jones and the late Valetta (Creary) Jones.
Jenesta was raised in Melrose, attended Melrose schools and graduated from Melrose High School in 1937.
Prior to moving to Tewksbury in 1998, she and her late husband resided in Brownfield, Maine for many years, where they operated a poultry farm.
Jenesta was a former member of the Brownfield Historical Society.
In addition, she worked for the Polly Flinders Company in North Conway, NH.
Jenesta enjoyed crocheting and knitting afghans for her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Judie A. Sheridan of Hudson, NH and Susan D. Jensen and her husband Steven of Tewksbury; two siblings, Robert Jones and his wife Barbara of Debary, FL, and Constance Swan of Randolph; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Jenesta was the sister of the late Edith Leslie, Charlotte Dailey, Edward, Woodrow, William, and John Jones.
Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 5, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Private interment will be at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the A.L.S. Association, www.alsa.org. At the request of the family there are No Funeral Services.
