Brian “B” Michael Harding, 38, of New Bedford passed away suddenly in a motor vehicle accident on Monday September 25, 2017.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Gayle Harding and Andrew J. Harding, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He attended Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational-Technical High School but ultimately graduated from New Bedford High School. He was employed at UMass Dartmouth.
Brian was a kind man with a warm heart, infectious laugh and genuine spirit. He was a true friend to many and was always willing to help anyone in need. His passion in life was playing basketball. He grew up playing daily at Pulaski Park with his brother Shawn and countless friends. Throughout his life he played on many teams and was most recently a member of the Raynham Athletic Club Men’s League where he passionately played for the last 15 years. The RAC was like a second home to Brian and his family is so grateful for the great friends and memories he made on that court.
Brian was a loving son to both of his parents. He had a brother and sister-in law who loved him unconditionally and a niece and nephew who adored him.
Survivors include his mother and father; brother and sister-in-law, Shawn and Kelly Harding of Raynham; his niece and nephew, Kellen and Layla Harding; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
He was the grandson of the late Mary K. Smith Harding and James F. Harding.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday October 5, 2017 at 9 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
