Worcester: Alan J. Wade, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at home with his family by his side. His wife of 62 years, Margaret C. (Crandall) Wade predeceased him. He leaves 3 daughters- Sharon Mizell and her husband Brent of AL: Wendy Wise and her husband Karl of Worcester, and Lynne Renihan and her husband James of CA; a son Glenn Wade and his wife Linda of TN, "son" Richard Gordan and his wife Brenda of Sutton; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister Muriel Pyche of West Boylston; and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by siblings Louise Phelps, Malcolm Wade and Jean Shaw.
Alan was born in Worcester, son of the late William and Frances (Seeley) Wade. He graduated from North High School and attended Florida Bible College. He was Minister of Music for both Pleasant St. Baptist Church and the former Belmont St. Baptist Church for many years. He also worked for several years prior to retirement as a security guard for the former State Mutual Life Assurance Company. He was a member of the former Belmont St. Baptist Church and enjoyed singing and vintage cars.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 12 noon in The Journey Community Church, 25 Belmont St. Worcester.
