Martha Jeannette (Poor) Fox, 84, Anderson, died at her son's residence after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Anderson on September 22, 1933, the daughter of Carl K. and Bertha V. (Saunders) Poor, graduated in 1951 from Anderson High School and was a switchboard administrator for the Herald-Bulletin 27 years before retiring in 2003.
She is survived by her three children, Terry J. (Joe) Riley , Rod J. (Barbara) Fox, Carl J. (Lynda) Fox, her sister, Shirley J. Hatt all of Anderson; thirteen grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and one on the way; best friend, Cheryl Ferguson, several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Christy Lindley and Anna Jeanette Poor.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert M. "Bob" Fox, brothers, Carl K. and James S. Poor, sisters, Betty J. (Gibbons) Baker and Patty J. Denny and a granddaughter, Melissa J. Fox.
Service will be 1 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Chaplain Margie Vandergraff officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
