Frances A. "Fran" (Capraro) Lyons, a resident of Charlestown and originally from the North End of Boston, entered into eternal life suddenly on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 93 years of age.
Fran was born in Boston on March 3, 1924, a daughter of the late Anthony Capraro and Paula (Termine) Capraro. She grew up in the North End where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Girls High School. Fran worked for the Boston Public School system for 25 years as a Teacher's Aide where she worked at Harvard Kent School in Charlestown and Holden School in Charlestown. Fran loved her family and was very active in St. Mary's Church in Chrlestown and the Senior Center at the Nazzaro Center in the North End of Boston.
Fran is the beloved wife of the late Ralph Lyons. She is the devoted mother of Paula Kirk and her husband Billy, and James Lyons and his wife Patti. She is the loving Grammy to James, Caroline, Cory, and Savanna. She is the beloved sister of the late Josephine Termine, Katherine Maniscalco, Antoinetta Capraro, Vito Capraro, Marco Capraro, and Joseph Capraro. She is the lifelong friend of Mary DeSimone. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Fran's Funeral on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 12 Noon. Her burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Roslindale. Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
