Louie Esposito, age 95, of Dorchester, passed away peacefully in his loving family’s company on September 29th at Seasons Hospice in Milton. He was born in Roslindale and raised in Mattapan. He was educated in the Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. He was a proud US Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 5th Army in North Africa and Italy. In 1947 he married Mary Mariano. They made their home in the Neponset section of Dorchester where he raised his family and lived for over 60 years. Louie worked for 40 years for AT&T, New England Telephone, NYNEX and Verizon. His finest achievements were the guidance and encouragement he provided and the example he set for his family. In his retirement, he maintained an active role in their lives as a handyman, chauffeur, and proud supporter of his grandchildren’s after school activities. Lou was an avid Boston sports fan and card player. At 95, he still took great enjoyment in following the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots. He looked forward to playing cards with his life-long friends well into his 90s.
