Altagracia Caban, 69, of New Bedford died September 27, 2017 at Royal Taber Street Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Jose F. and Herminia (Santiago) Caban, she lived in New York City for many years before moving to New Bedford.
She was a kindhearted, caring, giving loving person who enjoyed helping others.
Survivors include her son, Mark Verdejo and his wife Naomi of New Bedford; her niece who she helped raise, Letticia Caban of New Bedford and her children, Jordan, Tyler and Elias; a brother, Javier Caban and his wife Elisa of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Mark and India; and her nieces and nephews, Yolanda, Mayra, Jeannette, Jacob and Jessica.
Her Memorial Service will he held on Monday, October 9th at 1 PM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St.,New Bedford. Her family will receive guests from 12-1 PM at church prior to the service.
