Roland G. Bettencourt, 77, of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Carolyn E. (Stanley) Bettencourt.
Mr. Bettencourt was born in Little Compton, son of the late George and Mary (Medeiros) Bettencourt and had been a longtime resident of Fall River. An avid camper, he always looked forward to his annual camping trips at the Westport Campgrounds. Mr. Bettencourt enjoyed dancing and riding his motorcycle but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his 2 daughters: Mandy L. Souza of Fall River and Charlotte Richards of OK; his son: Roland Bettencourt, Jr. of OK; a brother: John Bettencourt of Fall River; a sister: Geraldine Desrosiers of Fall River; 3 grandchildren: Dylan J. Rego, Amanda Richards and Amber Richards; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Clarence “Sonny” Bettencourt, George Bettencourt and Barbara Cowen.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M.
Visitation will be from 9-10:30 A.M., on Saturday, prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
