Melissa Alewine Holton, 40, of Telfair County, Georgia, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017, alongside her husband, Jeff Holton, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Dodge County.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Christian Fellowship, Inc., Fitzgerald with the Rev. Rex Johnson, the Rev. Chuck Taylor, the Rev. Allen Arowood, and the Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Melissa was born February 26, 1977, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Roger Lee & Frances Gail Crumpton Alewine. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1996. Mrs. Holton was a homemaker and a former employee of McDonald’s in Fitzgerald and the Pizza Hut. She loved animals and had a big heart and was affectionally known as “Mit Mit”.
She is survived by her children: Kason Alewine, Kaleb Alewine, Jayce Alewine and Tayler Rains; a step-son, Jaedan Holton; sisters: Donna & Ellis Green of Rebecca, Christina & Eddie Flinchum of Fitzgerald, Cecillia & Mark Brooks of Abbeville; a brother, Jamie & Penny Alewine of Rebecca; step-brother, Jimmy Ellis Black of Fitzgerald; nieces and nephews: Ashley Wooden, Johnny & Amber Green, Michaelaleigh Green & Chris Phillips, Courtney Alewine & Christopher Hutto, Chad & Nicole Matthews, Victoria Brooks, Rusty Riley, Gabrielle Green, Brandon Riley, Hailley Green, Shellie Brooks, Jessie Brooks, Chance Green, Hayden Alewine and Abby Alewine; many great-nieces and nephews; step-grandmother, Shirley Crumpton of Sumter County; aunts and uncles: John & Betty Alewine, Wayne & Tina Crumpton, Jerry Stetz, Stanley Flowers, Polly & Paschal Griffin and Joyce Getchell.
