Obituary



Arnold “Bill” Webster Bailey, 84, of Kingston, NH passed away peacefully on September 21, 2017.

He was a well loved and respected father, friend, brother, grandfather and gentleman. Born in Marblehead, MA at a young age he decided to become a butcher at a local butcher shop from which he continued to do so for 50+ years. He worked at Pease Air Force base in the commissary and Tendercrop Farms for many years. Bill was a Korean War vet for the US Navy for 11 years where he was honorably discharged and was awarded the National Defense medal in honor of his service. While serving he had the opportunity to be a part of a small Naval group to sing for the queen of England. Having started a local band, The Echoes, then later joined another band called The Wind River Band he was a singer and played both acoustic and bass guitar. He was often said to have “a voice of an angel.” Bill was devout in his faith and attended many Baptist churches through his lifetime the last being Danville Baptist in NH. Bill was a man with many talents that most never knew about. People that knew and remembered Bill knew his overwhelming love, kindness and devotion to helping others. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He will sing with the angels while his children will continue to sing of and for him.

Bill is predeceased by his parents Sumner Joseph Bailey and Marguerite Rachel (Henderson) Bailey both of Marblehead, MA. He is also predeceased by his brothers Roger G., Sumner “Bunny” J. Jr. and by his half brother Dana H. Robbins.

Bill leaves behind his 6 children, with whom he considered his world. Shannon of Salem, MA, Shane, Shaun, Shalissa all of Toledo, OH, Shantelle of Red Rock, TX and Kenneth Bruns, Jr. of Danvers, MA.

He also leaves behind a sister, Julia F. Brooks and her husband John “Jack” L. of Duval Village, FL. His many nieces and nephews and their ever growing family. He also leaves behind a grandchild, Aria of Toledo, OH from whom he adored. He also leaves behind his ex-wife and long time friend Linda Prout of Exeter, NH.

There will be a Memorial Service at Danville Baptist Church at 226 Main Street, Danville, NH 03819 at 6PM on Thursday, September 28th.

In lieu of flowers the family asks people to donate gifts to the Danville Baptist Church.
It was as he lived his life, to give to those in need and he always gave more than he could.
