Obituary

STEEP FALLS-Elizabeth A. Hanscome, 79, passed away at her home on September 24 doing what she enjoyed most, preparing a meal for some loving family. She was born January 20, 1938 in Portland, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Batty) Seger. She married Kermit Hanscome on December 18, 1954.



In her early years she worked as a cook at Two Trails Restaurant in Standish. She also worked at the Hanold Co. as well as doing some private cleaning over the years. She enjoyed going to casinos, playing bingo and buying scratch tickets! She also Standish Senior Citizens, Steep Falls Library, and to church dinners. She loved to sew and made all of her own dresses, and also knitted many hats and mittens to donate to The Lions Den at Christmas. She also donated a lot to Toys for Tots.



Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Mary Huntley, and a brother, Walter Seger. Surviving are her 5 children: Diane (Bill) Hall of Saco, Susan Kiley (Ernest) of Brownfield, Donna Emery (Chris) of Buxton, Deborah Colomb (Benjamin Sr.) of East Waterboro, and Kermit Hanscome (Mandy) of Steep Falls. Two sisters, Janice Kneeland of Lyman and Patricia Winslow of Arkansas. Two brothers, John Seger of Gorham and Raymond Seger of New York. Also 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, a large extended family and many friends.
