Martha Virginia Willett Kennedy, 84, of Chula passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Tifton’s First Assembly of God with the Rev. John Thomas officiating. Mrs. Kennedy will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Kennedy will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Tim Bruner, Andy Bruner, David Hill, Hunter Johnson, Roger Aultman and Chris Patterson will serve as pallbearers.
Born September 23, 1933 in Guin, Alabama, Mrs. Kennedy was the daughter of the late Leonard Willett and Fannie Mae Webb Willett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Kennedy; one son, Robert Charles Sadler; and one sister. She was a homemaker and a member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Mary Ellen Thomas of Tifton and Wayne and Kathy Thomas of Guin, Alabama; two sisters, Audrey Jean Bridges of Guin, Alabama and Betty Lorene Aque of Ocilla; five grandchildren, Tanya Franks, Dewayne Thomas, Stephen Paul Thomas, Kevin Burgess and Brian Burgess; and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Kennedy’s care-giver, Janie Paulk, for her wonderful love and care of Mrs. Kennedy.
