Gloria A. (Gasse) Sullivan, age 88, of Marshfield, died September 9 2017 at Brookdale Plymouth Beach, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James “Ed” Sullivan.
Born and raised in Brockton, she was one of 16 children of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Otis) Gasse and lived in Brockton until her retirement to the “beach house” with her husband. Gloria attended Brockton High School and volunteered in the Brockton Public School system before working several local jobs.
Known to many as “Glo", she loved gardening, working on puzzles, playing scrabble with her sisters, baking cookies with her grandkids, boating with her family, flying kites, making big spaghetti dinners for her family, and walking on her beloved Green Harbor beach collecting sea glass. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and was so proud to see what wonderful people they had become.
Gloria was the loving mother of Kate E. Sullivan and her husband, Chad Hasson of Pembroke, and Mary C. Sullivan of Marshfield. She was also the proud and loving grandmother of Ryan, D. Sullivan of Marshfield, and Elizabeth E. and Jacob D. Sullivan-Hasson of Pembroke. Gloria is also survived by sisters Sally Chouinard of Falmouth, and Beverly Hamilton of West Bridgewater.
