WORCESTER___Edna T. (Sobiech) Gustowski, 87, formerly of Worcester died on Sunday September 24, 2017 in the Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston. Her husband of 30 years, Joseph L. Gustowski died in 1983.
Edna leaves five daughters, Marianne Buetens of Worcester; Jane T. Gustowski of Worcester; Joan M. Kalinowski and her husband Joseph of Auburn; Dianne H. Gustowski of Holden and Carol J. Lyons and her husband Christopher of Framingham; nine grandchildren, a sister, Regina Wozniak of Attleboro and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer D. Kalinowski, a son-in-law, Daniel Buetens and two brothers, Stanley and Frank Sobiech.
Edna was born and raised in Boston, a daughter of the late Walenty and Stanislawa (Panus) Sobiech and has lived in Worcester for many years before moving to West Boylston a few years ago.
Mrs. Gustowski was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Edna was strong in faith and love of family and was a very faithful Catholic. She also loved polka music.
The funeral will be held on Friday September 29, 2017 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday September 28, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Renovation Fund, 34 Ward Street, Worcester, Ma., 01610 or to a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
