George W. Lipphardt died peacefully on September 25, 2017 at Avalon Health Center. He was born on May 24, 1928, in Providence RI to George Brand Lipphardt and Lois Wells Lipphardt.
After service in the Coast Guard, WWII, he attended UCONN and was a 39-year employee of Electric Boat in the Purchasing Department, and a 25-year Mystic Seaport volunteer where he was selected as Volunteer of the Year.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Delude) Lipphardt, sons Wayne (Kris) and Randy (Marcia) Lipphardt and daughter Stacy (Charles) Shaffer, 4 grandchildren and a great grandson.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 7 at 2:00pm at StoneRidge, 186 Jerry Browne Road, Mystic. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
