Obituary

Mrs. Helen M. (Zurawel) Strojny, of Taunton, entered into rest Tuesday, September 26 in the Life Care Center of Raynham following a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Felix Strojny. She was born 99 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Michael and Apolonia (Koss) Zurawel. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, Helen had been employed as a Secretary for the City of Taunton Street Department for 20 years. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends and especially her family. She was a communicant of the Holy Rosary Church.

She leaves: 1 son: Steven Strojny and his wife, Lynne of Bourne; 1 daughter: Virginia Goncalo and her husband, John of Wellfleet; 2 brothers: Edwin Zurawel of Palo Alto, Calif., and Henry Zurawel of Raleigh, N.C.; 1 sister: Julia Kobielski of Enfield, Ct.; 3 grandchildren: Adam Strojny, Amanda DeMarzio and Tucker Goncalo, 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Helen was also the sister of the late Josephine Pelletier of Raynham and the late Francis Zurawel of Dix Hills, N.Y.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, September 29, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the Service, Friday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
