TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Joann Conley Smith, age 70, a retired Gillette employee, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, September 26, at Lahey Medical in Burlington, after a courageous six week medical battle. She was the beloved wife of Clifford A. Smith, with whom she would have celebrated a “Golden” Fifty-Year wedding anniversary this coming April 27th.
She was born in Auburn, New York, one of four children of the late Francis and Mildred (Rooney) Conley. She was raised in N.Y., and had lived in Tewksbury since 1977.
Joann devoted her life to her family, loved to travel, watch professional sports, and a day at the beach.
Besides her husband Cliff, she leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Brian S. Smith and Moria (Remington) Smith of Adams, NY; a grandson, Joshua Remington of CT; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her brothers, William, Joseph and Bernard Conley.
