WESTON: Jean C. Brogan, 95, of Weston, formerly of Wayland, Ridgewood, NJ and Ho-ho-kus, NJ, and winters in Fort Lauderdale, FL, died peacefully on September 17, 2017.
Jean was born in Carbondale, PA the eldest child of the late Margaret Rooney Cain.
She trained as a nurse and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, NJ where she met her husband, the late Francis B. Brogan, MD.
A devote Catholic, Jean volunteered for many charitable causes in her long-life. She especially enjoyed her years volunteering at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. She traveled extensively throughout the world into her eighties. A life-long learner, Jean earned BA in mid-life from Felician College in Lodi, NJ.
Jean is survived by her six children: Francis B. Brogan, Jr. (Barbara Lee) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Lieutenant Colonel Michael P. Brogan, USA, Ret. (Angela) of O'Fallon, IL; Mary J. Brogan, MD (Bruce Black) of Sudbury, MA; Christopher J. Brogan (Janet), of Fairfield, CT; Margaret Brogan Eastham (Stephen) of Reno, NV; Julie Brogan Uhrich (Christopher) of Lincoln, MA; fifteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Burial in New Jersey will be private followed by a reception for family and friends at the Glenn Rock Inn, Glenn Rock, NJ on Saturday, October 7, 12:00 p.m.
