Joana Gomes Da Veiga (71) of Boston and Praia, Cabo Verde died September 22nd in the Boston Medical Center.
She was born in Santiago, Cabo Verde daughter of the late Francisco Veiga and Maria Goncalves. Joana loved to listen and dance to traditional Cabo Verdean music, cook and socialize with family and friends.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Diva Tomar of Boston with whom she was visiting, Dilma, Carlita and Eloisa Veiga all of Cabo Verde, 2 brothers, Jose Veiga of Cabo Verde and Mario Veiga of Brockton, 2 sisters, Bevinda Veiga of Cabo Verde and Alcinda Veiga of Portugal, 7 grandchildren.
Funeral Services and Burial in the Cemeterio de Varzea, Praia, Santiago, Cabo Verde later next week. Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton is assisting the family with travel arrangements.
